Two styles of hunts include:
- flat land/mesa hunts
- mountain hunts
The flat land/Mesa hunt is the less strenuous of the two hunts. Both the flat land and Mountain hunts are in New Mexico on 100% private owned ranches totaling 24,000 acres; therefore, you do not have to worry about inexperienced intruders. The flat land hunt is north of Clayton, NM. The mountain hunt is south of Chama, NM. The Chama hunt is a draw hunt, but the chances are very high considering your application is sent by March. The hunter applying has to have both my signature as a registered outfitter, as well as the land owner’s signature to apply. Unit 5A is the most desired deer unit in the state, being the only unit you have to draw for. Both of these hunts are ran out of base camps consisting of:
- 12 X 14’ wall tents
- wood burning stoves
- cots
- lanterns
- clothes racks
- three meals a day (normally a light breakfast, sack lunch, and a home-cooked supper)
- etc.
We also provide:
- field dressing
- skinning
- quartering
*The state of New Mexico allows 5 days to hunt your game; therefore, it will be a 5day/6night stay with us.
* If you choose to kill out early, you are more than welcome to stay and enjoy fishing local lakes and relaxing!
