High Rack Outfitters: New Mexico Elk Hunts

Our elk hunts are based on 5 different private ranches south of Chama, all of which join the Jicarilla Apache Indian Reservation.  The reservation sells their elk hunts for 10-18 thousand.  The only thing that separates us from them is simply a barbed wire fence.  Hunts will be out of fully furnished wall tents.  You will also receive three meals a day. (normally a light breakfast, sack lunch, and a home cooked supper) Local transportation will also be provided.  The hunts will be a 6 day/ 7 night stay.  The ranches that we hunt catch the herds out of Pagosa Springs, CO and Chama, NM; this means lots of action!  I have been guiding elk hunts for four years, one season as a registered guide in Wyoming with lots of success!  Although. this will be our first season for elk hunts with High Rack Outfitters, so I apologize for the lack of pictures.  Hopefully you will join me in our first season, and have the trophy picture on our website!  

It is best if you can be flexible on this hunt as I have landowners scouting daily.  Because of this, we are informed of the migration of the non-resident elk, rather than the resident herd.  If need be, we can set a date, that is not an issue. 

Water is scarce in this area; therefore, I pay landowners extra to haul water in to troughs and food plots.  We look forward to having you in elk camp this year!
